A subsidiary of Microsoft's console division. Most notably the publisher of the Halo and Gears of war franchises.

Microsoft Game Studios, a subsidiary of Microsoft Corp., develops and publishes games for Microsoft consoles and PC. Until recently, it was headed by Shane Kim. It is currently run by Phil Spencer.

The moniker Microsoft Game Studios was introduced in 2002. The subsidary was previously known as Microsoft Game Division and Microsoft Games.

Microsoft Game Studios also publishes titles for developers including Epic and Bioware.
