Game » consists of 5 releases.
A weapon that has been forged and/or imbued with mystical energy, magic, or some other supernatural force. It is often required to solve a specific puzzle, or vanquish an impossible foe.
A small animal that digs tunnels and mostly feeds on earthworms. Its eyesight is weak, but the smell and the touch are strong
Mummies are lumbering undead corpses wrapped in bandages. They are often associated with ancient Egypt and may have magical powers or be immortal.
Many games such as Shin Megami Tensei, God of War, or Too Human base their story off of or utilize elements from the order of the cosmos as perceived by humans both ancient and modern.
Legendary, stealthy assassins from Japan's feudal era, who are well-trained in the art of the sword, and who may or may not have access to magical powers.
Ogres are large, grotesque, barbaric humanoid creatures. They are generally not very intelligent, but make up for that with their unmatched strength used to crush and maim their foes.
Orcs/Orks/Orques are a fictional race of tough humanlike creatures, often with green or black skin, originally coming from the Saxon word for the Normans during the invasion, meaning demon or foreigner.
Games where the player either can, or must, create all their protagonists as custom characters.
As part of the main quest the party must buy and renovate a disused castle. They do so by finding King's Megacredits in mid to high level dungeons. As the castle is restored shops with high-level services are added to it. When the castle is completed the party can find the Xeen Slayer sword in the dungeon, a weapon needed to kill Xeen and win the game.
Simulating the effects of a great variety of poisons, toxins, venoms and nerve agents can lead to many unique and interesting mechanics. A classic trope in games, Poison usually deals small amounts of damage to health over time.
Rangers are wise, cunning, masters in archery and have vast wisdom in the concept of nature.
A character that appears in many games, often unrelated. For an example, Cid from the Final Fantasy series.
Many games feature a story which involves saving the world and its inhabitants, often single handedly.
Scorpions are an eight-legged arachnids with two large pincers and a venomous stinger on the tail, used to kill or subdue prey and defend against aggressors. Though their sting can be very painful to humans, few scorpion species can kill a healthy adult.
In-game jokes or Easter eggs involving references to characters or events from earlier in a game or the game's series.
Skeleton Warriors are comprised of the animated bones of the dead. Often brought to life to do the bidding of an evil master as mindless and indefatigable soldiers and guardsmen.
The skeleton is the framework of the human body.
Slashing weapons are designed to cut and slice rather than causing blunt trauma. Examples include swords, axes, claws, naginatas, or even whips.
Player characters or enemies that can be abruptly awoken, often aggressively.
A blob consisting of some icky substance, the slime monster is one of the most used RPG monster clichés besides rats.
Arguably the most fearsome of all the reptiles - it has scales and no legs. Snakes use a variety of tactics to harm players such as poison, hypnosis, and constriction. The most deadly snakes have mastered the way of stealth.
A visual representation showing the spells or skills collected by the player. This is in reference part of the user interface, not to book objects within a game.
Any practitioner of magic (wizard, sorcerer, mage, necromancer, etc.) who casts spells. Even unlearned scholars can throw a mean magic missile every now and then.
An eight legged arachnid. Some make webs to catch prey and some are poisonous. None have made a web grand enough to be called a parlor, though.
A two-dimensional image or animation overlaid into a scene. The foundation of early 2D games, making up everything from props to the player-controlled character.
A condition which affects a character's effectiveness, either positively or negatively. Common examples include Poison or Haste.
Trolls are a mythical race of creatures that have been interpreted many different ways in games.
The Undead is an umbrella term describing creatures that do not exhibit the key fundamental attributes that are associated with life, such as respiration, and blood circulation. They are divided into two main categories: Ethereal and Corporeal, depending on whether or not they have a body.
A dragon that has been resurrected after death. Undead Dragons are often weaker but more terrifying than their living counterparts.
Vampires are undead, nocturnal creatures that subsist on blood. They have superhuman powers and are sometimes able to shape-shift. They are weak against sunlight, foreign objects stuck in and left in their hearts, decapitation and sometimes holy water and crosses.
