    So I'm trying to make a trap that would drown any mobs inside...I'm not entirely sure if this would work though.

    So the idea is that a switch would open the door on top releasing the water into the chamber, thus drowning Mr. Zombie. What I'm wondering is...will the door be able to shut once again after it is submerged in water? Any tips?

    There's a video on Youtube that describes how to make a water trap.  No red stone required!  Just a lot of time.
