    I'm trying to bring water from the ocean to a pool somewhere on the land to use for farming. Is that possible? No matter where I dump the water it just disappears.

    Is this singleplayer or multiplayer? Water in buckets is completely bugged in multiplayer.

    dig a canal from the ocean to the spot, easiest way imo, me and another guy on the eu server spent a good 3 hours trying to reroute a waterfall for a moat, when we eventually got it there it only filled it up 1 block :|

    I tried this in the other gb alpha server and the water did not behave this way. It's either lag or some weird server setting.

    It works in single player, but the alpha server has quite a few bugs.
