I decided to toy with Minecraft again last night, although I'm not really into it, and I stumbled into a surprisingly beautiful cavern that I wish I had screencapped. (I accidentally destroyed it, so it's gone)

Someone has, or rather a very large group of well-organized someones. Last time I mentioned that, a million people had to quote me and tell me. I just think it's a bit funny seeing how many people feel they must immediately quote me and tell me that it's happened without scrolling through at least the next few posts. And yes, I know about

@RandomHero666: Bahahaha, I remember that. All but the last two were of the previous Giantbomb server map - "Surface Hell" to be precise - of when I terraformed a corner of it (and the redesigned "Hell Bridge" leading from the entrance area to my spot, across the lava lake). The only part that was not "legit" was the ice; it took a good 2+ hours to get 18 stacks of 64 snow blocks.
The last two are from my third world ever, way back in alpha, when I wanted to see what I could make with infinite blocks. An extremely weird castle thing is what happened, with a ridiculously large minecart bridge that went from the castle to a tiny, unimportant island.
Edit: Oh god, that fourth picture. If you look to the left, you can see the giant sand island I spent a good couple hours excavating. I got like, 2.5 double chests full of sand.
Right now I am trying to get the Aether mod going. I wanted to do a lets play of it or somthing but Im having issues (Gonna be my first mod. Been playing basic minecraft since alpha.

I never understood the appeal of this game. The visuals are horrible...
Because graphics make the game, right?
No, but they are a big aspect to take into account. And the more video game graphics advance, the worse do older games look. For example, I was pretty put-off by the Disgaea 3 graphics, even to a point where I stopped playing it. But of course, that's all subjective and a matter of taste.

I like how you deleted your post you sent me. And also yes, graphics sometimes matter, but there is a huge, huge difference between a low res, aliased game with bad lighting (not talking about this disgaea game, never seen it) and a game with a specific art style that essentially makes the game what it is.
If the game looked like the Witcher 2 and had the same gameplay it'd be the weirdest mish-mash of stuff ever, and it wouldn't be what it is.

I didn't delete it, it's a different thread ;)
BTW I didn't try to offend anyone with my statement, it was just a subjective expression of my surprise/lack of comprehension that this game is so popular with graphics like that.

Ive been banned from the technic forums or asking a question. But not before I was able to get Technic working along with the texture pack.
Getting the textures for the mods is a real hassle. I re-installed it a few days ago and everything works except for the mods textures. The enhanced textures are in my texture pack folder, but the IDs aren't the same. It makes it super easy to spot tin and copper at least.

I dont know how to make anything at all. And I am havin issues with the mod. Course now I cant get help cause they banned me.
basically put the zip into the texture packs folder which is in appdata/roaming/minecraft/texturepacks then open the patcher and make sure everythings custom animated and all the goodies are checked except "better grass" and press PATCH then pick it in the texture pack menu in the game it will make ur game look WAY cool evyer1 on my server uses it
