Should Minecraft be at least considered for PC Game of the year?

sure

as long as it wasn't considered eligible in 2009

either way I doubt it will matter, since I don't think it would win.

Like it stands a chance against all the other games that have been released this year!

Yeah! All those great PC exclusives! Like... uh... well there was... I got nothing.

the only reason i can see it not being considered is that they talked about last year that if it was used then (when it was ine beta) it could not be used this year. and since it got used in the personal top ten then it might not be elegible for this one.

Depends on how different it is, really.... If it's just the enhanced version of the enhanced version of the same old 09 game, it's really an 09 game.

Betas can't be nominated...

It probably won't even make my personal top 10 this year. It's been a damn good year for games.

I'll be shocked if GB even mentions it in the room. It's the kind of thing that they should scribble on a white board for consideration, and immediately cross off because none of them can vouch for it. Unless Will wants to submit it as a final-solution tiebreaker. But it's been a damn good year for games.

Minecraft hasn't done anything better than the other Game of The Year nominations and hasn't sold nearly as many copies due to it's niche market. I say no, regardless of when it was "Released".

Minecraft has sold over 4 million copies.

sure, why not. its not like GOTY actually means anything.

Of course, assuming people didn't already put it in there years ago as a beta. It's a video game, it went "final" this year, it's amazing for some people, so why not?

...No, I don't think so. When you are asking people to pay for something that they can play right away, it's released.

I agree completely. The recent additions to the game might aswell just be patches to something that's alreadybeen released.

I agree with this. Calling it "Beta v.__" is just a play on words if you are letting people buy it and play it.

Hahahaha consider away.

Yeah, it's a game that came out this year. Makes as much sense as any other game being considered that came out this year.

It should have a chance, but I don't see it getting far on Giant Bomb since they've only dabbled in it.
