the 360 version and bring it up to speed with the pc?

i know its the obvious question.

i read on the minecraft pedia or whatever that they will offer free updates just like the PC, however it does not say whether it will transfer all the features of the PC version over or not

let me know if you find more info

Makes it a lot harder to predict because of Microsoft's crap regulations on the 360.

My bet is that it will fair like TF2 did on the Xbox.

ah man, its such a hard choice, like on one hand i really like the streamlining of the crafting on the 360 and the controls, but on the other hand its severly gimped compared to the pc version

By that you mean occasionally updated and left to die?

You could just mod the crafting interface in and play with a controller, thats what my brother does.

I don't like how the crafting interface looks from what I've seen in videos. That might just come from having owned Minecraft on PC since Alpha though.

@SeriouslyNow: Yep, thats exactly it. Its easy to assume that Microsoft's policies are to blame for that one, but it could be Valve too, I'm just biased toward Steam. I suppose Mojang made a big deal of NOT getting hooked up with Steam, so maybe that means they have worked out how to push updates to the Xbox and 360 owners will get to experience all that Minecrack has to offer.

I was put off by the interface initially as well having also owned it since one of the first Alpha builds. The idea of not having to screw around with placing stuff on the crafting table is appealing though. I like Jeff's idea about only having to put in the recipe once and the game remembering it.

I'd assume that 4J will be the ones doing the updates. (Seeing as how they were the ones who ported it to 360) They've stated multiple times that they intend to update it as much as possible to match the PC version.

4J are doing the updates. Yes it will be updated. For launch purposes and getting it on Xbox LIVE, they had to launch on an equivalent of PC version Beta 1.6.6.
The next update will be the equivalent of PC version Beta 1.7.3.

Any news on making it where monsters don't spawn in my house?

@TentPole: For now I think the only way to do this is to make sure you don't use any double doors, have a floor that is not dirt/sand, and don't keep your bed adjacent to a wall.

I think this same bug was in the 1.6 Beta version on PC (which the 360 version is based on). I'm guessing this will be addressed in the first update.

Turns out my doors were on backwards in addition to the things you mentioned.

Uh, what?

@Napalm: I don't know...I haven't tried out this stuff yet, but I plan on doing so. I hate being woken up by a monster inside of the house when it seems that it should be totally safe.

@Chaser324: Just like in real life: if people want to get into your house, they will.
