Miniature Golf is one of the first attempts to simulate the titular game, which was popular during the era of release. Gameplay mimics the sport; the player must tap the ball into the hole on each level. Each level has a variety of obstacles, which the player must avoid and/or use to ricochet the ball of of, to land in the hole using as few shots as possible.
Miniature Golf uses a primitive physics engine to determine the ball's final location, based on the strength and angle of the shot. The player's club is represented by a block, and moved away from the ball to indicate strength and angle, similar to a pool cue. The further the club is moved from the ball prior to swinging; the more power is transferred to the ball.
When each hole is completed, gameplay ends. Alternating 2-player mode follows the same rules.
