Underrated refinements bring MLB 10 to its highest level yet. 0

I'm mainly a franchise player when it comes to sports games. I do love the excitement and drama of on-field action, but the real addiction to these games, for me, is playing armchair GM and sculpting my favorite teams into better versions than reality would ever allow. For the last few years, the developers behind MLB: The Show have focused on graphics and gameplay. While The Show certainly had a serviceable Franchise mode, obviously the big-ticket items that get people's attention are how the ga...

Hey Joe - You're in The Show 0

If you've read any of my past reviews, you know I'm in love Sony's MLB The Show franchise.  That being said, I'll be fair... I hope.   Ah, yes...MLB The Show. For the past several years, it's been the go-to game for baseball simulation. Competitors have not only produced worse games - they've been viewed as abject failures mainly because Sony's simulator has been so very good.  Warm cookies and milk good. Sapphire and tonic good. ...and as addicting as the white powder.  A high school Joe Mauer ...

Buy Me Some Peanuts and Crackerjacks 0

In honor of the Yankees' home opener this week, I felt it would be fitting to take a look at the premiere baseball series out there. Of course, I am talking about the PS3 exclusive, MLB: The Show, and it's latest edition, MLB 10: The Show. It would have been easy for Sony to sit back, update some rosters, get a new cover athlete, and ship out the best baseball game that is available for purchase on any system, but they had a different idea in mind. Listening to some of their critics and fas...

Haiku Review: MLB 10 The Show 0

This is the Haiku Review, where I fully review a game in seventeen syllables, in a 5-7-5 format, letting you know everything to expect from beginning to end for this game.  Batman: Arkham Asylum Haiku Review by TurboMan : Aim at the batter. Ninety mile per hour fastball. Heading for your face.      Now meditate on the haiku to really get a sense of if it's worth checking out.        ...

Greatest sports game ever? Greatest sports game ever. 0

I recently purchased a PS3 with the money I got for my 21st birthday (January 8). While I was pumped to finally play both Uncharted games, along with MGS4 and Killzone 2, I feel like I really bought the PS3 for MLB: The Show. I know, right? A sports game as a system seller? What in the Solid Snake am I smoking?   For me, my purchase came down to how much I love baseball. While I loved/played most sports, baseball was the sport I was the best at. The highlight of my life has to be when I hit a wa...

MLB 10: The show, ok 0

MLB THE SHOW, what can we say about this game? I think that the only thing we can say about the game its taht its pretty cool, awesome, outstanding, well you get the idea. Ever since 2006 when it came out, it was so amazing to see different things in it, mostly the thing that could capture your mind was the fact that you can create a player (probably yourself) to be a beseball star, in which you did not have to play with every player on the team and your player, but just your player, bat only wh...
