Overview
Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS-Force is the franchises first title on the Vita, and the most recent addition to the portable line of Gundam VS titles since Next+ on the PSP in 2009. Extreme VS-Force is also the first VS game in almost 10 years to be released officially overseas.
Gameplay Changes
Extreme VS-Force uses a simplified control scheme compared to previous Extreme VS titles. For example:
- The Extreme Burst mechanic has been removed
- Several units have lost moves or had them altered to fit a 2-macro system for specials as opposed to earlier games’ 3-macro systems
There’s also a new “Force Mode” which shifts gameplay away from the classic 2v2 style matches of other games and focuses on large-scale team matches to capture bases on the map and take down enemy motherships. Points can be earned during missions to buy boosts for your party as well as unlocking devastating attacks for your own mothership by defeating enemies and capturing bases.
