I just checked my default brightness level and it was way too low, I could not at all see the barely visible strip that was there. 
 
Previously I taught maybe this was an issue with resolution but somebody here wrote to check the brightness, so I did.
 
I have also noticed that it is too dark in my cousins television as well, so I am going to check if they are having the same problem.

Mine was too high to start....just lowered it and its better now I think.

I don't have any problems with it.

I depends on the tv, my downstairs tv had the default setting way brighter than the upstairs tv on default, so just change it and don't make pointless threads...
