After i beat the single player for the first time, and tried the multiplayer for 10 hours til i puked all over it and ditched it forever, i was one of you MW2 haters
i made fun of the game and expressed my disgust over the cheap multiplayer and the short single player
But i just beat the single player again just now (3rd playthrough), and dude, fuck me and you for denying that this game is something else.
We wont have any more of this man. do you understand the words coming out of my.. fingers ?
I am deeply saddened that i wont get to have any more of this well-polished fast-paced first person shooting, with all the adrenaline-pumping action sequences and surprises. Makarov got away for ever..
RIP Infinity Ward.

The sequel to 2007’s wildly successful first-person-shooter Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 continues the story of American and British soldiers fighting Russian ultra-nationalist forces.
I'm sad that Infinity Ward are through
" I don't remember the studio closing down. "the 2 people who pretty much ARE Call of Duty are gone. that means IW are dead for me

This plus almost half the studio going with them. Only thing left is the name." @natetodamax said:

Is it because they can't use the name Call of Duty? They can still use the plot, the setting, and the characters from their old game.
" @Ahmad_Metallic: Respawn Entertainment is pretty much Infinity Ward. They have the two Directors and all the leads from the old studio. What makes you think they cant create something as equally good? Is it because they can't use the name Call of Duty? They can still use the plot, the setting, and the characters from their old game. "They might be able to use the name Call of Duty if they win the right in court.
The thing that's the worst is that it ended on an obvious cliffhanger but the people making the next one aren't the people who originally came up with that story so it has a much greater chance of sucking. I'd like to hear West and Zampella's ideas for MW3 much more than the idea of playing it from the bastardised Infinity Ward.
" @BunkerBuster: then i'm buying respawn's first game on launch day. Call of Honor Modern Conflict 3 "Or its sequel Modern Conflict 4: The Revengening Part 1
I never liked COD and no I'm not trying to be "Cool" on a forum, that's fucking lame, so them losing most of the studio doesn't really bother me.
Plus they went on to create Respawn Entertainment.

Activision are filling up what remains of Infinity Ward with the dregs of other studios. Expect to see a Modern Warfare 3 made by a different Infinity Ward, that will be terrible but still sell millions due to the name.
While the real minds behind Call of Duty will make a great game that sells barely enough to keep them afloat.
I'm fairly indifferent when it comes to the IW meltdown.
Personally I didn't find Modern Warfare 2 captured the magic that was Call of Duty 4.
I figure their next Modern Warfare game would've suffered even deeper from "more-of-the-same".
