Call of Duty 4 is amazing and all but I'm really starting to get sick of military shooters.... actually, shooters in general.  Unless Infinity Ward makes huge leaps (like the improvement from Call of Duty 2 to 4) then I'm not picking it up.

I think it's safe to assume that it will be known as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Not Call of Duty 5: Modern Warfare 2.

seriously though, he's right. the single shot guns, mainly that m14, should be a single shot kill gun, especially considering the crazy recoil . 

people say Killzone is really hyped up (and it is) but man when the new Call of duty trailer hits and previews start going up. get ready for the atom bomb of hype.

I think Modern Warfare 2 is a decent title if they do go for that. Or if they really wanted to explain it could have "Call of Duty 6: Modern Warfare 2:  Back to the Future (Of War) 1"

I can't wait for this one, after the colossal dissapointment that was WaW's multiplayer it's nice to play somewhere else other than the streets and countrysides of Germany with better guns.

I'm predicting it to be the best COD by far...As long as they make a longer campaign than 4. Also I think they should add a new game mechanic, where you can dive to the side from grenades, because that would add a whole knew dimension to gameplay.

Will it be overrated as the first is the question. Sorry folks the first one was nothing special if you had played previous CoD games.

i think MW2 will be similar to the first one except a different single player campaign. its gonna feel and play identical to the first one, i don't see the reason why they should change the formula

I can't wait for this game.  I should go back and play Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.  I should also probably rent Call of Duty: World at War, seeing as how I have yet to play it.

Well theres my hope for IW making a Sci-Fi CoD shot.

At least it won't be another WW2 FPS again this time.

I was really looking forward to a Sci-Fi call of duty game. Modern stuff is just too ordinary now, and I think IW could really do some good work since Sci-Fi really doesn't have any limitations.

Vulture sounds like an aerial unit, so I'm guessing that's just the standard air support sequence.

Anyway, can't wait for this one. The first Modern Warfare blew my mind, and I'm sure Infinity Ward can do it again.

Moden Warfare 2.. excellent!

The only thing I hope for.. is that they do some more innovating in the multiplayer portion. I know their single player will rock face, there's no question or doubt there. But the mutliplayer... which I LOVE will need updating. I played a ton of COD4 mutli.. and quite a bit of W@W multi as well. Great systems but going back for a 3rd installment of the same exact system would be a little too much. Don't think it would last as long. So here's to hoping COD6 pwns all expectations!

Well, no surprise here. And by no surprise I mean it is so AWESOME!

Screw the centre mass, hit 'em in the greasy bucket!

The problem is topping their last game. They can't use the nuke scenario as a plot twist a second time. And if this truly is Modern Warfare 2, in the sense that it will take place within the same general time period, and with the same basic technology, then they'll have to come up with something to keep it from feeling like more of the same. Although I suppose most people won't complain about "more of the same" when it comes to Infinity Ward's Call of Duty.

Then again, seems like most people only care about the multiplayer, anyway. I'm a single player-player.

I love the COD4 Multiplayer, but I play games primarily for single-player as well. I love a good story and a good single player campaign, and COD4 delivered both of those admirably. And even if MW2 doesnt top MW1, it will still top World at War. Get this franchise back in the hands of a developer that knows what its doing.
