Now before you flame me, let me first say that MW2 is by no means a terrible game (I only feel a little bad for wasting $60 on it a year ago). But compared to every other AAA title I've played, it's got the worst multiplayer component by far, and yet the whole goddamn world seems to play it.
 
I just dusted MW2 off and played it a little again (since Black Ops is about to come out) and the game is even worse than I remembered. In one game I played, the entire opposite team chose scavenger, danger close, and commando with the noob tube, and just went around blasting everyone with their one-hit kill 10 yard radius death explosives.
 
In another game, everyone ran around with tactical knives, marathon, and commando pro and just knifed knifed knifed. Not to mention the connection was shitty, so there was absolutely no hit detection on these guys.  
 
A third game I joined was just killstreak spawn rape. Pavelows and Harriers, then chopper gunners and gunships, then a fucking nuke to seal the deal. If anyone's played Team Assault in Medal of Honor and got a team spawn trapped, it was like that but 1000 times worse. Christ.
 
And don't get me started on all the hackers all throughout the game, and the fact that every single person I heard on a mic was a little kid.
 
God, what a bad game. I was psyched to get Black Ops but I had forgotten how bad MW2 was. Even though Black Ops is going to reduce the splash damage of the grenade launcher, make killstreaks harder to get, remove commando, etc, I'm not so sure about getting it now, since it still carries the franchise name of this disgrace of a game.
 
Whatever happened to the Call of Duty I knew and loved? CoD4, I want you back :-(

I was on the hate train at launch. Infinity Ward had a whole damn year to take me off the hate train, but all they did was fix the care package bug and add a couple of overpriced map packs.

MW2 topped MWI in every single way. In multiplayer and especially in single player; not to mention spec-ops, which was amazing. 
Do you guys remember how insane the single player was for that game? Blows my mind just thinking about it.

yeah, you are pretty late on this. although in your defense i stand by my thought that if that game sold half or even a 1/3 of what it actually did sale, it would be more fun to play.

I only played it for two months, but I absolutely loved it.  Single player campaign was batshit crazy, the spec op's stuf was a nice diversion and the online component was always really fun when I played it.  Just because people exploit the game or don't play at the same level as you doesn't mean a game is terrible.

So lets consider the AAA component for the moment.  Is MW2, then, a worse game than supreme commander?  Wheelman?

That's the reason I'm not buying Black OPS. Every major multiplayer game has a Beta. Every single one. From (my current favorite) BFBC2 to the original MW. Why they stopped doing betas is beyond me. You'll never find all the bugs during QA. Never but yet you release something that will get broken by the first day, promise fixes and then never deliver them and later over charge for map packs for a broken mess of a game. Do a fucking Beta. Blizzard always does them, Bungie does it, Dice and the list goes on. Fuck Call of Duty.
 
Side note though if you play the game on PS3 it's not as broken since it's harder to mod that console

I really wonder where all these games are.  I mean, I have never had so many bad incidents.  The worst thing I have experienced was boosters trying to get nukes.  None of this, everyone had this or had that.  Noob tube, whatever man, dont play.  People need to stop playing so seriously and just enjoy the game.
