Amazon has a digital download version (Steam activated) for $5. Is it worth it?
Come on man, almost every
game thing is worth 5 dollars.
I've never played the game on the PC but I'd imagine it's fine. Hackers are probably a problem, but if you only play the single player it is still worth the price of admission. Spec ops is fun of you've got a homie to tear dudes up with. Reviews are still fairly accurate so feel free to read/watch those.
Apparently it's riddled with hackers, and the Matchmaking has always had issues connecting players. I'd normally roll my eyes at claims of "riddled with hackers" but I just tonight spent a night (in mw3, mind you) filled with rooms with hackers, culminating with a match so ridiculously hacked, I alt-tabbed and loaded up fraps. I'm currently rendering the video out.
I haven't played it in awhile, but stopped because I was tired of getting hacked. At the time (2010) cheaters were able to taint matches so that everyone taking part immediately got leveled up Level 70 10th Prestige. Sounds good on paper, but it completely removed the entire metagame. The only way to revert back is if you had a recent backup of your saved data since MW2 cloud syncs on Steam. This happened to me twice, both times resulting in me having to erase my progress and start over from Level 1. The second time I also ended up losing all my single player progress in the process. I don't know if the hackers have moved on to other games at this point, but it seriously detracted from the fun.
@xobballox: Lol, my mic must have been close to my face, and I was breathing a bit heavy out of slight frustration.
Oh, now I feel bad :( I didn't know it was your video. (It wasn't that bad, I just thought it was a good opportunity for a joke, sorry!)
Although I don't agree with it, I understand why people hack bank accounts and other shit like that, they get rewarded for it, but to hack a game is just.. sad. You have got to be some kind of board virgin to want to hack a video game.
How long will the pc game market last for if hackers are forcing people not to play a $5 game?
Every time he got killed, he'd drop to his knees and yell "NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!". He just edited it out.
Thanks for the heads up. I think I'll pass on this one.
Not that I hadn't already convinced you, but here's the video
Did Darth Vader make that video?
@CL60 said:@clstirens You know it's like that right now because of the free weekend?
Oh, so that makes it totally ok.
When did I say it's okay? I'm saying hacking in Call of Duty games gets awful during free weekends, because people make new accounts and just hack. ffs, why are you so hostile?
@CL60: Chris, just relax man.
I'll tell you again. Using my real name in literally all of your posts responding to me isn't funny, nor clever.
Chris, I agree with you. I would not use those adjectives to describe it either. Why are you so hostile?
Here is a tip: CoD games are only worth buying on consoles, even if the PC version is "superior"
All of them have plenty of hacks out that are easy to use and exploit.
In some bizarre world the PS3 version is probably the best version, as it is the absolute cleanest version out there. Ive never seen a maphack or the like for the PS3 version, ive seen some shady stuff for the 360 version.
