    This.

Also, you need to hit them in the body or the head. Limb shots won't bring down your targets, and if you're not facing the broad side of your enemy when you fire, chances are you're clipping them in the limbs, not doing the most possible damage.

I use the WA2000 (Silenced) with Sleight Of Hand, Cold Blooded and Ninja, and have no problems cracking off one-shot kills.

Spend some time going for headshots only, and you'll soon start reeling them off.

You don't need stopping power, using an Intervention will get you one shot kills provided you're aiming for the upper torso or head. It means you have to pick your shots more carefully but that may be worth having cold blooded for.

In the regular game settings it takes too many shots to kill a person. If you play on hardcore it doesn't feel like your gun is a peashooter, and you won't need stopping power.

Yup, this is the thing that matters with the snipers. Also, don't use a silencer.

play hardcore, usually a shot from any sniper on any body part will generally be a one shot kill

sure you can use stopping power...but if you play hardcore then you don't have to use that waste of a perk and keep cold blooded on

You are mistaken, when to go over it when selecting your attachment, you will see it slightly increases damage.

Acog doesn't increase range it just says it does.
Those stats are based on the feel of the weapon from what I've gathered.

Both of you are mistaken.  You should never rely on the statistics displayed in the Modern Warfare games, as most of the time they can be pretty false and give you the wrong idea.

From the official Modern Warfare 2 wiki:

Contrary to popular belief, FMJ does not increase weapon damage, it just increases weapon penetration, serving as an equivalent to Deep Impact.

I have noticed otherwise, when using it versus not using it it was slightly easier to get  one shot kills.

Actually, I'm not talking about using it for damage but for the bullet penetration. Because that helps when he's trying to one-hit people!

But that doesn't work either because you can't have a one-shot kill with a sniper via bullet penetration unless it's a headshot.

    Ways to solve this problem...
    Use stopping power
Play in hardcore, one shot one kill

Also, people need to stop expecting one shot kills with a sniper rifle.  Limbs will not blow off.  Even President Kennedy had to get 2 shots before he went down.
    Too soon?

Somehow I frequently get one-shot kills with my trusty Barrett 50 cal. I am using stopping power, perhaps that is the reason...

    Stopping Power with the Intervention.

Case Closed, it's too easy. Or with any sniper, just use Stopping Power.

Getting one shot kills are very easy. I use the barret with stopping power and unless I hit the foot or a limb it's a one shot kill.

With that combination the WA2000 can't one shot. It takes two shots even to the head to kill a player with full health.

The only time I don't get 1 shot kills is when my target has painkiller. Just do w/o silencers and stick with either the Intervention or the .50 cal.

Take your time and hit the target in the correct area.  Too many people just start pulling the trigger as soon as they're remotely close.  One hits are much, much easier in MW2 than they are in pretty much any other shooter.
