I mean... I know the hype was outrageously annoying but I am addicted to the game still. I loved Modern Warfare 1 about the same amount back in the day.

Although I don't hate it, my issues with it stem from its severe balancing issues and poorly designed maps.

Because people don't like all the exploits and bugs that it had back in the day apparently (Care Package glitches, unlimited ammo etc.) so they call it a bad game... I however love MW2 still. Sure you get campers. But what do people in Bad Company 2 do also? Camp? That's right.
 
The Stimulus pack is not the best, but oh well. Sniping in MW2 actually feels good compared to COD4.

i've always liked the battlfield serious better
 
but mostly, i get pissed off every game whether i do the best or worst

1.  PC gamers are going to troll on it because of the $60 price tag, no dedicated servers, and no mods.
2.  ALOT of people played it, so alot of people are going to bitch about it.  Every game has it's bitchers.
3.  It had some unacceptable glitches.
4.  It is cool to hate popular things.

Because people like to hate anything that is popular. It may also have something to do with the glitches it has/had.

 
I still like to play it with friends whenever I'm bored though.

COD4 has better maps and the killstreaks weren't so extreme.

Because it is unbalanced. The map design is poor, and the spawns are ass. You know the spawns suck when it constantly spawns you with an enemy directly behind you.

Maybe some of them just don't like the game as much as the majority?

and just when i finally get to the point and think about playing something eles , they release new maps....so i gotta go

people are going to hate it. the PC people are going to hate it even more because of the $60 price tag, no mod support, no dedicated servers. one reason why i don't like it. i got it for the ps3. there are some server/ peer to peer problems.

I would not say everyone hates it, but rather some do not like it because they can.

I fail to understand this. I have not played the multiplayer in either game, but the single player in MW2 was everything that MW1 was trying to be, only much better. MW1 is more revolutionary, but MW2 is a much better game.

Modern Warfare 2 had stupid marketing behind it that put me off. Strange to claim that the DLC will help combat 'mapathy' when two of the maps are taken from an older game. Also, calling it a Stimulus Package while jacking up the price of the DLC only turned me away from the game, rather than drawing me to it.

It's a really good game however it has its share of problems.  One, its broken!!! Two, it can be incredibly cheap/frustrating.

Because some people are assholes who hate shit if they are bad at it or refuse to even play it. I dislike mw2 because I feel it doesn't live up to CoD4, but I certainly don't hate it. It doesn't have the flaws other shitty popular games had, such as Halo 3.

I love MW2's single-player and Spec-Op missions but the online multiplayer needs fixing.  Leveling used to mean something in CoD4 but now anybody can just 10th prestige.  Plus there are numerous bugs and exploits that can ruin a match.

People who do not like a game and people who hate on a game are not the same people. The former will simply state that they do not like the game, and will give valid reasons. A person who hates on a game will go into hysteria and will declare a game to be abysmal without supporting it with valid criticisms and reduce their arguments to petty insults. There is a key difference.  "

The people who complain about things are generally part of a vocal minority which is almost always the case online. I only pay attention to it for the psychos who really flip out at the thought of people enjoying/not enjoying something they love/hate and MW2 was an absolutely peerless generator of nerd rage so I definitely appreciate it for that. I liked the game but can definitely see how someone who encountered the glitches and stuff online could hate it and will always have a good laugh at them melting down on line, I suggest you do the same.

Since the title update I'm getting nothing but awesome connection to every game I play. Having really good fun 

• The first game was more innovative and original and less glitchy and took everyone by surprise and made people jizz nonstop 
• Humans tend to praise the first part of a franchise and diss the sequels 
• Humans tend to diss extremely popular things because huge popularity means the product appeals to almost everyone (lots of "dorks" and "noobs" included), and nothing is special about it 
• The whole 'no dedicated servers' shitstorm made it clear that Activision is a big dick and so we should hate Activision and it's biggest game 
• The single player was ridiculous
• The multiplayer is ridiculous. all the fucking air strikes and weird ass shit that makes u die once every 5 seconds unless you camp.
• Bad Company 2 is GOD next to the MW2 piece of shite.

It is a good game, just not as good as others that did not receive the same hype.
 
But my complaints are:
1. Poorly paced single player with far too may dumb twists.
2. No matchmaking (on PS3 anyway) in Spec Ops
3. Unbalanced, buggy, and glitchy multiplayer. 

i loved modern warfare 1 but i hate part 2 because of a few things.
1. the stupid one man army noob tube class. omfg thats annoying
2. the maps are just bad.... so unbalanced and just boring.... 
3. glitches glitches glitches
4. more camping than any other shooter ... yes even bad company 2
 
oh yea, dont get me started on the BS killstreaks.....
the chopper gunner is ridiculous and kills the game for me.... not to mention being able to get one with a stupid 4 kill streak care package

I feel like IW took what was good about MW1 and shat on it. Specifically, weapon balance, good map layouts, and a fair kill streak system. They added death streaks, which basically make players close to invincible after just a couple of deaths (painkiller, lol), BUFFED the noob tube with danger close and added new noob tube options (thumper, etc.), made ridiculous kill streaks that kill the entire enemy team five times over (AC-130, chopper gunner) or end the game entirely (nuke), and there's absolutely no environment destructibility or improvement in graphics over CoD4.

Because it is popular. Even if you don't like it there is no reason to hate it.
