After seeing the amount of downloads for the Stimulus package hitting 1.5 million and the map pack being a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360. I have to wonder, will the next Call of Duty be an exclusive to the Xbox 360? I'm only curious and I want some smart opinions. Please no flame wars.

i highly doubt that. don't they want to make money? if so i believe they'll want their games out on all the big next gen systems.

Nope. It still makes money on the PS3. That doesn't mean you wont see "exclusive" 360 content or anything. That's still a stretch.

Activision has made it clear that their mission in life is to make as much money as possible no matter the cost. No way will it be exclusive. Of course we'll still see DLC exclusivity, but I don't think Microsoft is willing to throw down the money it would take to get MW3 exclusivity (believe it or not.. I mean, I know Microsoft has a lot of throwing around money).

Good point. I was wondering about this because they still haven't given a date or at least an estimate season of when the map pack will be released on PS3 or PC.  Oh and sorry to hear about your professor. Just go on with your life dude. Professor's come and go. "

Most definitely not. The game itself will definitely appear on all the consoles possible. Now, I'm not going to say the same thing about the DLC. As AndrewB said, Activision has made it clear their aim is to make the most money possible. If they get an offer for exclusivity and it's sufficient to cover the amount not earned from the other consoles, I imagine they'd make exclusive DLC. But not an exclusive game.

As long as it makes money on the PS3, I don't see why it would be 360 exclusive.

I don't know. Point me to a source that knows? Do you have any idea how much it would cost to recoup the losses from not releasing on an entire console plus a tidy bit of profit to make it worth their while, for a game that sells as well as Modern Warfare 2 did> There are factors besides the immediate monetary gain at play, as well. You can bet Sony wouldn't be happy with Activision. "

Activision has been whoring out CoD on every major platform in the last 7 years  
CoD 4 was ported on the fucking DS!
And  CoD:FH was released on the Gamecube!

If Microsoft buys Infinity Ward then it will be PC/360 but that'll never happen.

unless Microsoft throws Activision more money than they made on MW2 on PS3, I highly doubt it. And even if Microsoft did, I could see Activision saying no to it.

Why would one of the most successful hardcore franchises that has games running on almost every system out there confine itself for one system?

Nah, it's highly unlikely. Activision publishes it, therefore no matter what genre it is, it will be crammed on anything with a screen, ala Guitar Hero.. and even COD. Why a DS version of that game exists... baffles me. 
 
Also just noticed... now you can get every single COD game on the xbox, other than the united offensive pack. That's pretty cool.

Well the next one will be a Treyarch game, and will have been in development for a while. Will the next Call of Duty be exclusive to one console? No. Will a future Call of Duty? Possibly, but I think timed exclusivity is much more likely.

what i wonder is about the quality of the game. Activision got rid of Zampella and the other guy and this week they got rid of the lead game designer and the chief engineer. To me that's like getting rid of gabe newell and do a half life game

Microsoft would have to purchase Infinity Ward for that to happen. Otherwise that would be a truly stupid thing to do. Developers are moving towards multi platform, not the other way around.

Sold millions on ps3 and pc and the porting becomes easier and easier and better and better the more experienced they become.  MS would have to give them crazy cash to make that happen

I would be really surprised if Microsoft hasn't already tried to secure it as an exclusive. They are all ready doing all they can to make the average consumer think that it's only on there system, MW2 limited edition system and timed exclusive map pack.
