    Yes, it's still being played. My friend gifted it to me a few weeks ago and there are still plenty of servers up to play on.

    I just bought it after watching a few video reviews 
     
    I hope - 
    A) that i will like it  
    B) that it won't be too similar to TF2 (then i'd rather keep playing TF2) 
    C) that it's still popular today and has populated servers 
    D) that it  won't wither and die off by the end of the year
