Company Brief

Monkeystone Games was both a developer and publisher that was founded by former Ion Storm employees John Romero, Stevie Case, Tom Hall and Brian Moon in July, 2001.  Their primary focus was mobile and hand held platforms though some of their releases also came out for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Their first release developed internally was Hyperspace Delivery Boy! which was released for Pocket PC on December 23, 2001.  The game was fairly successful and went on to be ported to several other platforms.  Their second title, a puzzle game called Congo Cube was initially developed for Windows but ended up being ported to several mobile platforms.  Their third and final internal title was a version of Volition and THQ's Red Faction for the Nokia N-Gage.

In 2002 and 2003, the company experienced an exodus of employees including all the founders.  Brian Moon left in 2002, Stevie Case in mid-2003 and John Romero and Tom Hall in October, 2003, both of whom left to work at Midway Games.  An employee named Lucas Davis continued to operate the company until it closed permanently in January, 2005.
