Morrigan

Character »

Morrigan is a party member in Dragon Age: Origins and is set to return in the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition. Raised by the Witch of the Wilds, she is a powerful mage with devious tendencies and unknown motives.

Anti-Hero

A protagonist that lacks typical heroic qualities.
Atheism

The absence of belief in the existence of gods.
Bears

A large omnivorous mammal that can be white, brown, or black. Despite their ferociousness, they are also associated with being soft and cuddly, as in teddy bears. Bears are also known to eat stairs. Scientists say that because "bears eat stairs" rhymes the bears are naturally inclined to do so.
Desire Demon

Preferring to bargain rather than battle, Desire Demons play on the hearts of men to possess them.
Earth Manipulation

A biological entity with the innate ability to move and shape soil, dirt or rock with little to no physical contact.
Exploring Yourself

When a character in a video game must explore their own psyche to progress through the game. Although this can be metaphorical, more often than not, the character does so literally.
Femme Fatale

An alluring female who uses her charms to seduce men with intention of using them to further her own intentions.
Fire Manipulation

A biological entity with the innate ability to control the behavior and movement of fire. This is often connected with the ability to biologically or magically create fire.
Healer

A character type found in RPGs, MMOs, and class based Multiplayer games that focuses on keeping friendly characters alive. Their general role is to heal/buff and resurrect fallen allies.
Lightning Manipulation

The ability to control the direction and/or behavior of lightning; this may also be connected with the ability to generate lightning. Many games involve characters with lightning element attacks. These are unique because of their potency with water.
Magic

The concept of affecting the universe through supernatural methods, breaking the fundamental laws of science.
Narcissist

A narcissist is a person that is obsessed with one's own looks or who has an egomaniacal sense of self-importance.
Neutral

Neutral is where a character or what have you does not take one specific side in a conflict or argument.
On-The-Fly Character Switching

Games that allow you to switch characters with the press of a button.
Potential Love Interest

These are the characters who may or may not wind up in a relationship with the protagonist of the game. Sometimes the player gets to choose if this relationship will develop, while in other instances it is just left up to your imagination at the end of the game.
Recruitable Characters

Many games allow you to add characters to your playable group upon fulfilling certain conditions. This is a central mechanic of many RPG franchises, including Fire Emblem and Suikoden. These can be NPCs or even enemy characters that the player persuades to join their cause, through sidequests or dialogue options.
Revealing Attire

Some females (and males) prefer to wear few clothes. Such clothing is seen in a variety titles, particularly many fighting games and fantasy RPGs.
Ritual

Set of actions, that are part of a religion or traditions.
Sex

When two (or more) characters love each other very much...
Sexualized Women

Female video game characters are often designed with impossibly perfect figures and proportions, outfits that are unrealistic, or end up in completely over-the-top poses designed to show off their bodies. Famous examples include Ivy from Soul Calibur series, and the entire female cast of Dead or Alive.
Shape-Shifting

The ability to change shape. Humans shifting into animals is the most common type of shape shifting.
Spellcaster

Any practitioner of magic (wizard, sorcerer, mage, necromancer, etc.) who casts spells. Even unlearned scholars can throw a mean magic missile every now and then.
Spider

An eight legged arachnid. Some make webs to catch prey and some are poisonous. None have made a web grand enough to be called a parlor, though.
The Blight

A Blight occurs when the otherwise chaotic and disorganized Darkspawn awake an Old God with their taint and it arises to lead the hoard as an Archdemon.
The Chantry

The religion of Ferelden and much of the rest of Thedas. Followers believe in The Maker and the teachings of His prophet, Andraste.
Tsundere

A personality archetype with a name that arose from Japanese fandom. It describes women (or sometimes men) with cold, aggressive, or confrontational exteriors that are rather soft or kind deep down inside.
Witch

Witches are women who can perform magic. There can be good witches and bad witches.
