Morrowind is a Dunmer province which lies in the empire of Tamriel and is far from the more civilized lands to the west and south that typified Daggerfell and Arena.

Religion:

Morrowind's people generally follow the Tribunal. The Tribunal consists of three deities known as Vivec, Almalexia, and Sotha Sil. Each of the theree deities has their own city named after them. Vivec resides in Vivec, Almalexia resides in Mournhold, and Sotha Sil resides in the mysterious Clockwork City. The various ashlander tribes of Morrowind do not follow the Tribunal. Instead they practice their ancient form of ancestor worship which also involves Daedra worship.

Population

The population is a mash of many races including Redguards, High Elves (Altmer), Dark Elves (Dunmer), Wood Elves (Bosmer), Orcs, Argonians, Khajiit, Breton, Nord, and the Imperials. With so many races inhabiting the island it is no wonder their are inequalities amongst the various groups. Slavery exists, largely singling out the Khajiit and Argonian races, but the other races are not entirely excluded from becoming owned either.

People who are new to the island, known by the locals as "Outlanders," are rarely treated well and generally have to work extremely hard to receive even the smallest amount of respect from the lowest of citizens. There are of course exceptions to this, and a select few citizens will be welcoming of new comers.
