I doubt Capcom would make another crossover game anytime soon.

The producer says it relies on the success of Street Fighter X Tekken, which will be released in 2012.  So it definitely wouldn't be soon.

And of course this comes from the Mortal Kombat developer and not from Capcom.  I'm sure they would just love for them to be associated with the most popular fighting game franchise, but I doubt that Capcom thinks that a crossover between SF and Mortal Kombat is "inevitable".

A SF vs MK makes sense considering fighting mechanics.  if we're talking about MK 1,2,3 that is.    The MK "rebirth" looks promising, and I am holding my breath for that one tbh.

It is probably only a matter of time- yes...

But how would MK's violence be handled in such a cross-over?  (Since SF doesn't have such gore)

Would they handle it like MK vs DC did?

Or would it be a case more similar to the current SF X Tekken crossovers- where 2 games will be made?

MK vs SF wouldn't be anything like SF x Tekken.

MK would have to town down characters and they're too different as playing styles. It works with Tekken because they're both japanese rooted and your never going to see Ryu rip a mans spine out through his ass.

It sounds cool on paper and its a gamer's dream...yet it just wouldnt work.

MK without the gore is just not MK (that's also including DC vs MK)

I'd rather have a MK vs DC 2. (mostly cuz i really liked that game) Hey if MARVEL and capcom have their thing why can't MK & DC?

Nah I'm good. I don't need another game where Ryu players do the same 3 moves over and over.

A game where Street Fighter characters are subjected to extreme violence, and that doesn't appeal to the Japanese because they don't give a shit about Mortal Kombat? I doubt it.

No, it's not. Not when one of the series in question is almost diametrically opposed to the cultural values of the other.

Hector Sanchez has a rather interesting take on the definition of inevitable.

We have a better chance of seeing Capcom vs. SNK 3, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom 2, Street Fighter X BlazBlue, and Capcom vs. Nintendo before any Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat game.

It'll never be MK vs SF along the lines of MK. If it happened(which I highly doubt) it'll be more along the lines of MK vs DC. Plus they are 2 totally different fighters and wouldn't mesh well

I'll buy that and the EX edition eight months later.

More interested in the upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken to be honest.
