I've always preferred Sub Zero, nothing like a Ninja with iceman powers.

My brother took Scorpion back when we first got MK1.  As a result, I must always use Sub Zero.

A mate of mine used Scorpion, so I used Sub Zero.

Ive prefered Scorp for the most part...

Does anyone else get annoyed when people assume they are the main characters of MK? Maybe its just me being a nerd but I always correct people on that.

I remember the first time I played an MK game. I'm pretty sure I chose Sub-Zero over Scorpion because I like blue better than yellow. Also Sub-Zero sounds way cooler. Before it was associated with refrigerators.

Actually, uhh... Sub-Zero killed Scorpion, which is why Scorpion is dead. Or undead. A spectre. Whatever you want to call him. 
 
Both are necessary, but I think Scorpion is generally favored. As for me... don't make me choose. I'd pick Reptile over both of them. Not that he's a better character or is more integral to the series, but I always loved the mysteriousness of Reptile.

And speaking of Scorpion, if characters have 2 fatalities, it seems that there is no fire fatality for Scorpion, which is a bit odd. The gamespot live demo showed one, where the slashes at the torse, than head, kicks the torso away and slashes the mid air head in 2, but in the Fatality montage video they showed at E3 (and havent release officially for some reason), you see him slashing off someone's legs, and then it cuts to someone else. So 2 sword fatalitites it seems. I actually don;t mind because usually his fire fatalities lack in the gore department, but it's still weird

Scorpion, for sure. Speaking of the original ninjas, I don't like the look they've gradually developed since MK3, what with armor looking parts to their outfit, pointless decoration and the metal "faceguard" or whatever that's supposed to be. Bring back the all-fabric outfits for the ninjas, please. Part of what made them so great was that whole simplicity to their look, they didn't use fucking weapons or made any effort to their outfit except to cover up presumably grotesque appearances.
