Shang Tsung was piss easy, Goro and Kintaro where even less tricky. Those two morons could be beaten by doing jump in, flying punch, duck, uppercut. Over and over.

He's easy to Flawless Victory with Kratos. Golden Fleece reverses the hammer throw. Do the enhanced version to make the fight go faster. In between, shoot the bow. Cheesy, but it is nice to get Flawless Victory on him.

Basically as Lui Kang just stay as far away as possible and jump for hammers and duck for spears (if you jump for spears or duck for hammers, they'll still hit you). When he stops to taunt you (which he'll do about 10 times in a row on average) just do the left-right-triangle combo since it covers the whole screen. After you knock him down, back up again and repeat. "

The first fight with Lui Kang is easy. Just wait until he taunts and hit him with the full screen (dragon?) kick that Lui Kang has. Easy win. I'm assuming you can employ similar tactics with whoever else you fight him with.

that super armour on Khan and Goro and Kintaro makes the fights much harder than necessary. Definitely taught me how to play Raiden as cheaply as possible last night...in the end I beat story mode on medium with two flawless victories. Teleport really helps out on that one. As soon as he winds up, 'port behind him and combo/x-ray/uppercut/sweep/ehonda him.

Gotta love when he hits you with 1 hammer throw.  Then decides to hit you with 2 more.  Dick.

Fucking Shao Kahn. I'm glad I kill him at the end of every fight.

I found the easiest way to beat him after doing Scorpion's arcade ladder.

My biggest problem with the teleport trick with the final battle in story mode is that the down on my dpad is a little bad, so the command of down-up would come out at just up, making Raiden jump in place, and leaving him open for hits.

Shao Khan is cake... now Kano is BS. If any of you have played the Ladder on a high difficulty you know what I am talking about, eff him and that ball move.

Beating shao kahn with liu kang was easy it took 2 tries and beat him by doing the low fire ball over and over since kang ducks low enuff for shao kahns stuff to go over him.

much harder with raiden as he doesnt duck as low and you have to jump over the hammer.  took me 4 hours of teleporting and then doing kicks then torpedo over and over

IT IS UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE! HITS ME WITH HIS STUPID SPEARS 3 TIMES IN A ROW, DONT EVEN GET A CHANCE TO BLOCK OR DUCK, CANT JUMP OVER HIM BECAUSE OF HIS HACK SHOULDER JUMP THING
i also dislike Lu Kang so fighting Shao Kahn with him makes things 10x worse for me

While Shao Kahn is cheap, I still think Seth from SFIV was worse.

It was so delightfully easy to beat him with Kabal and his buzz saw throw attack. I probably used it 3 dozen times over the fight, and he just kept taunting and occasionally throwing spears.

teleport uppercut like 100 times should do the trick.

More like eff liu kang i cant play as him for shit no matter how hard i try. This sucks.

It seems that the only way to beat Shao Khan is a series of teleports and uppercuts or projectiles from max range and dodge the hammers and spears.

Am I the only one who didn't have any trouble with him? I had much more problems with the fucking 1v2 tag battles.

He was an annoying bastard. Eventually figured out a tactic for him though; get close to him, stay still and block, and as soon as you successfully block an attack. just start comboing. It's important to stay close to him, because at a distance he'd do those bloody unblockable hammer throws. His close-up hammer attacks are blockable though. Also, don't block for too long otherwise he'd throw you. 

In the campaign I just spammed fireballs as Liu Kang. As Raiden it was a little tougher, but teleport in response to any of his moves and uppercut. It took me a few tries to get his timing down then it became cake.

Both the story mode fights were tough for me (I make no claim to be decent at MK) but I managed to cheese my way through each using Lui Kang's low fireball and Raiden's teleport followed by an uppercut. I've now got to the point in the challenge tower where you are Shang Tsung fighting Baraka, Sindel (I think) and then Shao Kahn. I'm terrible with Shang and just can't do it.

Bison boss fight in SFII tricky, without creating a ridiculous, unbalanced clown of a character. He was rather the exception to the rule though, and still cheated like a mother f-er. "

So one of my fights started with him throwing a hammer, followed immediately by him throwing another hammer, and he said you know lets stick what works and threw another hammer, then he charged me and I died. I really hate Kahn.

I didn't mind Shao Khan the first time when you're Liu Kang. Hell, the Goro/Kintaro 2v1 match didn't piss me off nearly as much as it should have.

Anyone else experience a phenomenon where Shao Kahn is more difficult on Medium than Very Hard? Does the game scale based on how well you do in the rest of the ladder?

I beat him this week with Sonya and Jax, he kept taunting me for some reason which lead to his demise..

Doesn't help that I have a cut on my thumb that makes teleporting awfully hard to do with Raiden.

Shao Kahn on Normal+ is the worst time I had in video games all 2012. The worst time. That awesome story mode and they finish it with that turd of a boss design. How the eff does Ed Boon sleep at night having farted that one out the door?

It´s the grand tradition of MK (and to an extent fighting game) bosses screwing you over. I love how they did a good job with the AI in the new MK, but then for the last fight they just throw it out the window. I like to imagine it is a nod to the old games- and that Ed Boon sleeps very well, on a giant pile of money.

@bestostero: I can not express how much I hate Shao Kahn. So much so, that your post have me Kancer. I have until I best Kahn to live. So I get to live forever. I hope you get to meet the cheap bastardy someday, so he can hammer right in your d*ck holster. if you need me, I'll be sitting in my basement hating Shao Kahn. If you hear someone knock on your door tonight, don't answer it. I'll just come through the window anyway.
