Have to say I'm pretty excited. Rain was always one of my favorite palette-swap ninjas back in the UMK3 days, and his costume--at least in my opinion--looks sexy as hell. Between this and the recent netcode patch, Mortal Kombat continues to reaffirm its place as my most played game of the year thus far.

EDIT: Also, Smoke and Noob Klassic costumes incoming soon.

@Marz: Resistence is a boy band within the Mortal Kombat universe. Comprised of Rain, Jarek, Reiko, and Sheeva (who isn't a dude, but no one can tell otherwise by sight).

The dashboard promotion also reveals classic skins for Noob and Smoke next month, along with two others coming with the mystery character in August

I'm still down for more Mortal Kombat so all of their upcoming dlc releases has been exciting.

I really like that new Rain costume but I hope they do an MK3 ninja style for his alt or at least the MK1 palette swap.

I was hoping noob's classic costume would be a black cutout with no detail. 

They should release a slower, more powerful version of him and call it Heavy Rain.

That's what i was really hoping for Rain. Looks great.

I don't get what people like about the color-swap characters. I think it's incredibly lame. Reptile was already pushing it for me back then. Everything that followed was too much. They should just kill half of the color-swap MK cast.

if you don't mind answering this question, why exactly did you find Rain to be your favorite character? i've never gotten a real solid answer out of this one. i just don't understand why people love him so much. he wasn't in the arcade UMK3, and he never showed up again until MKA. he really was always a constant Prince joke. maybe its just people who love Prince who love Rain so much?

@ThePhenomenal1: I feel like you're just asking because you heard Gerstmann say something on the Bombcast, but I'll answer anyhow.

Ninjas, by definition, are pretty awesome. And the Mortal Kombat ninjas certainly don't disappoint. Especially with how strikingly the game differentiates between the, like, seven ninjas they ended up with, not counting the additional cyber-ninjas or Khameleon/Chameleon. While Rain wasn't in the arcade version of UMK3, he appeared in the console ports of the game, and in Trilogy as well.

Apart from the fact that he had a notoriously ruthless infinite combo (which helped make him one of the few characters I could actually complete the Ladder with--I was, like, ten when the game was released on the Super Nintendo), he had a neat sense of style about him. Reptile's victory poses--especially that Crane pose--and a selection of water and lightning-based attacks.

Ultimately, something about Rain, something about his inherent agility and his mysticism, got me. I can assure you it has very little to do with his being a Prince reference. There's an argument that all the palette-swapped ninjas beyond Reptile and Smoke are useless and dumb. It's probably a good argument, but also an unnecessary one, because people love them regardless. Sort of like flavors of ice cream. Rocky Road's going to be around for a while, regardless of whether you get it or not.

What made me a little upset is no where does it mention new Fatality dlc possibilities...and I really wanted that.

I want a Klassic Stryker skin with backwards cap and all.

I'm  not joking when I say this, I'd totally love Reiko from MK4 to make an appearance.  Shurikens rule.

I want all the ninjas to come back. Palate swaps are looked down on but they all had mostly unique moves that otherwise would have never been in the games because of memory issues. Hell the argument isnt even valid anymore as they all have there own look these days.
