Best Darn Fighter I've Laid My Mitts On

    Alright I'll keep this short.

Got my game at midnight and these are my thoughts thusfar.

    The game is bad ass.

It's the most polished fighter I've seen in a LONG time.

Lets break down the graphics first.
    - Good engine that allows awsome lighting effects. Shaows of the fighters being cast on walls are one of the great things about it.
-Great character models and motion caps
-Beautiful stage design gives a great feel to immerse you into the mortal kombat univers.
    -Special effects are great

    Some gameplay highlights.

-Smoother gameplay experience than previous MK games
-A great retelling of the Mortal Kombat canon( voice acting was also pretty damn good if you ask me)
-LOTS TO DO. Story mode , 300 challenges to complete, secrets to find and multiplayer.
-Fleshed out multiplayer features such as the king of the hill spectator feature.
-Plenty of characters to choose from with each having pretty unique feel to them.
-The game is tough, normal mode is a run for your money in the storymode.
-Fatalties are more awsome then ever . (2-4 per character)
    -Beefy Tutorial section.
    Lots of unlockable stuff.
    nostalgia :)

Some cons that I would like to note though

-Hard gameplay can result in some cheap tactics if thats not your thing.
-The multiplayer as far as I have experienced has not been functioning too well, this is common in the world of new releases :)
    - 2 v 2 tag can be done online + local with 4 players but the problem is that  1 team of 2 players have to be on the same machine. would have been great if 4 player tag team could be completely online.
-Some characters seem a little too overpowered at the moment like ermac, who does not delay after input to execute certain moves making it unfair at times not being given a chance to block.
    - A few broken combos that lead to crazy amounts of damage

IMO it is worth every penny. For fight fans or beginners alike. The level of polish on this title should be a standard in the genre, was a good refreshing feel to finally get a fighter that I don't want to sell back :D

Updated this review to include a look at the multiplayer elements for the PS3 version. Enjoy, and please leave some feedback! Also if you don't like this review leave a comment telling me how to improve for the future. Thanks!   Most fighting game fans can probably remember which of the entries into the Mortal Kombat franchise is their favorite. However, as a close converse to that, many can probably also remember which one(s) are the worst. I don’t think its cliché to liken the experience of g...

Get Over Here...and play Mortal Kombat! 0

Mortal Kombat 2011 Mortal Kombat comes back strong and hard for its ninth installment titled simply Mortal Kombat. This game is somewhat of a reboot to the Mortal Kombat Franchise both in terms of story and gameplay; not only do you relive/change the events of the story for the first three Mortal Kombat games but it also returns to its 2D fighting style. The story begins after the events of Mortal Kombat Armageddon. As Shao Kahn is about to finish Raiden off, he sends a message to his past sel...
