MOTOR STORM PACIFIC RIFT REVIEW BY marcio1986
MOTOR STORM PACIFIC RIFT REVIEW BY marcio1986

Welcome to the Island, a place where crazy people are willing to risk their lives for the pure enjoynment of racing.

Pacific Rift is a very well balanced racing game, you may be a motorcicle fan, a rally lover or you could be more into those really big Monster trucks who like to squash normal cars into pancakes, it doesn't matter because in Motor Storm Pacific Rift its mostly certain you'll find a ride that you'll like.

The really amasing thing in this game is that almost every track as multiple routes that will benifict different kinds of vehicles, meaning, if you are a bike rider you will not be at desavantage even if the track is not  suitable for bike riding, because probably there is a route somewhere that will make your life easier, this also turns the same track into different experiences depending on the vehicle you choose.
Unlike the repetitive tracks in the first game, Pacific Rift has many elements that prevent the tracks from being repetitive, you'll race in beatiful beaches with lots of water and sand, on top of vulcanos with lots of lava where you can hot baths or you can race in abandoned sugar factories (god I hate that track!).

The game has good sounds (just by earing you know what type of veichle is behind you) and an intense soundtrack that is suitable to the games competitive and agressive races.

The Single player mode is well made, your oponents will do stuff that you'll not except, which will make you always alert of your surroundings, and AI racers always race at your pace, meaning you'll never be to far behind or to far ahead which is a good thing because you'll always be near the action, also you can gain lots of cool stuff on Single player mode, things like new drivers, new body's for your rides, unlock trophies, etc.

its fun pushing friends off the road

Although the single player is fun to play the multiplayer is where this game shines, you may play agaisnt 3 friends offline or agaisnt 11 players online, this game is the most competitive and agressive as a racing game can get, being fast is not enough anymore, if you want to win in Pacific Rift you have to be agressive, punch dudes in biker to biker duels or push other veichles off the road using your boost.

Boost is the most important element in every race, boost is limited, the much more you use it the more will your vehicle hit go up and if you're not carefful you'll get blown sky high, so you must use your head to use the boost at the right times, you also may use track elements like water to cool down your boost faster.

In overall Pacific Rift is a Solid racing game with solid gameplay, very well design tracks and vehicles and has a great competitive multiplayer, but there is still much more room for improvements.

        My final score is:

    4 Stars

A Retrospective: Or, By Your Powers Combined I am Captain Planet! 0

I've gotten my hands on the newest Motorstorm(of the Apocalyptic variety), and before I start on that adventure, I'd like to take a little time to reflect on the time I spent on Pacific Rift. Water, Fire, Earth, and Wind zones were the name of the game of this game, and we're lucky that a bit of Heart was applied to this game along with the technical talent involved, especially in the levels that it was fleshed out upon, and in the individual feel of most of the vehicles have. However, the game ...

Gorgeous tracks and jumps; simplistic racing and no rewards 0

If you're looking for an adrenaline-filled arcade racer, you certainly won't go wrong with Motorstorm: Pacific Rift. This is pick-up-and-play racing at its finest -- perfect for parties or with friends. The extremely low learning curve and luscious Hawaii-inspired courses make a great first impression. The game offers a simple single-player "career" mode -- in the loosest definition of the word. You can play your way through eight ranks, unlocking new tracks, race modes, vehicles, skins and driv...
