Overview
Mushrooms are a fungus whose fruit is used to for the purpose of reproduction. Mushrooms usually grow above ground on the fungi's source of food. Mushrooms are used in video games for means of survival, sustenance, medicinal, psychoactive, poisonous, alchemy and/or crafting. Mushrooms are often the goal of fetch quests. Mushrooms are usually a means to an end within the game-space; however, mushrooms are thought to play a crucial role in purifying contaminated water supplies around the world. Mushrooms are famously power-ups in the Super Mario Bros. games.
