Namco Brings Its Museum To PS3, Home

Namco Bandai has announced domestic release plans for Namco Museum Essentials, a compilation of several old Namco arcade classics. The package is set to hit the PlayStation Network as a download in July, and it will include Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug, Dragon Spirit, and Xevious. There will also be a newly designed Xevious update called Xevious: Resurrection.

Like the beta version released in Japan, Namco Museum Essentials will also have its hooks in PlayStation Home. By completing goals in the games, you'll be able to unlock clothing for your Home avatars. I got a totally gangsterous Pooka hat from the Japanese beta that easily made randomly dancing and standing around in Home five times as amazing as it is without said hat.

Along with some images of the various games (news flash: Dig Dug continues to look like Dig Dug), Namco also sent over some footage of the new Xevious remake in action. Look!

Hey! This is interesting? A tie-in to PSHome? I hope its good, might help PSHome succeed its potential.

@darkspirit138: Other games have already done this, including Street Fighter IV.  I got 3 new shirts from playing through it... including a Dan one!!! yay :)

Namco Museum was one of the very first game to have Home integration when it hit in Japan aaaaaaaaaaaaages ago. I'm glad I can finally buy the full version instead of bumming around on the Japanese beta. If you do really well in the Japanese beta you get Pacman, Dig Dug and Galaga cabinets to put in Home that work when you use them... as long as you have the game... so people invited to your apartment always go right up to them then complain they don't work xD

I'd really like a remake of Rolling Thunder in the style of Rearmed.
