Naughty Bear GOTY 2010

#1 Posted by Coombs (3449 posts) -

Ok so probably not GOTY but still, I just pre-ordered.
Are you going to get this game when it comes out (sometime in June, GB says the 8th others say the 29th)
I really like the Super Cutesy Ultra Violent style of games that have been coming out in the last while ( FairyTale Fights)
So will I be playing teddy bears with you all online sometime in June?

Pre-Order Bonus
  Useless shiny pre-order stuff.   Normally I don't go for it, But seriously a Jason voorheez Teddy bear costume.......   Sold.

  And for those who don't know of the awesomeness that is Naughty Bear

  Look forward to ripping some stuffing with all those who realize the beauty that is Naughty Bear

Seems good, but it's not my type of game. Good luck with it!

@Jeust:
I guess it is a rather niche title.

Nobody has Teddy Bear love?
Really?

It looks interesting. I'm excited to see more.

#5 Posted by I_smell (3925 posts) -

What the hell is this game??

#6 Posted by Coombs (3449 posts) -
@DanielJW:
Not sure why GB doesn't have this trailer up....
We have 1 & 3 up, this is #2

  @I_smell:
  Naughty Bear has long been the black sheep and scapegoat for the Teddies of the Island of Perfection, but Naughty had always taken it well - more or less. However, when the teddies neglect to invite the shabby stuffed antagonist to the big birthday party, Naughty Bear finally looses it. The game follows Naughty Bear on his mission to seek retribution through the relentless and systematic execution of every other bear on the Island of Perfection. What a naughty, naughty bear

Reminds me of Conker's Bad Fur Day

I don't know what to make of it? Very little of any of that footage was actual gameplay. If it's anything like Fairytale Fights though I'll stay far, far away from it.

Think that cutscene from level 3 is probably the closest to gameplay so far for this game that we've seen. Looking forward to it & hoping that there's some rare special kill abilities that are available which copies the parodies seen in the other videos. If you're going to kill a lot of bears it'd be a nice treat every rare time to just spice things up with something that fans of the films will really enjoy seeing.

Poor bears. I like plush toys. Though these bears are kinda eh, i'm perfectly fine with them getting ripped apart violently! As long as it doesn't spread to other poor toys...

I'll have to get my hands on this eventually, looks awesome. Assassin's creed, with teddy bears, is how i'm kinda seeing it.

I hope this game fails.  Personally, I heavily dislike the concept and this type of "cutesy violent" crap.  I hope it does as badly, if not worse, than Fairytale Fights did and that A2M—the developers and the same company that made WET and a bunch of shitty licensed titles—crashes or something.

lol sounds good to me

@FluxWaveZ:
Yeah because lighthearted games have no place in this world, since your "hardcore"

Yeah, because that's totally what I said, jackass.  I dislike this game for practically the same reason I dislike RapeLay: the concept doesn't appeal to me in the least.  Unlike you, I don't think there's anything funny at all about a teddy bear murdering other teddy bears in various ways and I'm not a fan of gratuitous violence, like you seem to be.  Good for you if you're excited about this game, but I immediately find it unappealing because of what it is.

@FluxWaveZ: Ok the idea of teddy bears killing teddy bears offends you, I see.
And yeah I agree teddy bear murder is pretty much the same as raping a mother and her daughters......

Having funny trailers won't sell me on this game. Will wait for more info.

Fairytale Fights was so long and super fucking boring that I couldn't even get past the game without wanting to doze off out of sheer boredom and repetition.

As for Naughty Bear, eh, I'll play it but whatever.

As for your avatar, Coombs...unnecessary.

The trailers are awesome, but the gameplay looks terrible... almost like a flash game.

Continue misinterpreting what I've said; seems like you're having fun.

Why would it matter if the game fails. You obviously have no interest in it so you won't play it anyways.  It really has absolutely no effect on you whether it does or doesn't do well.  Its a pretty simple concept to just not play a game you don't like the idea of or just don't like in general.  I am personally interested to see how it pans out to see if they can actually turn it into something as fun (in my opinion) as conker's bad fur day was.

Personally I am not really hanging out for it or anything. But if it turns out alright I might pick it up later.

#23 Posted by Phaseshift (222 posts) -

Not interested, looks boring. Good luck with GOTY.

Well, it's for pretty personal reasons, really.  I'm probably just angry at how A2M, a company that lives in the same location as me and that I wanted to see succeed badly, messed up WET.  I also find cutesy violence very revolting.  I'm also interested on seeing how it does, and I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be happy to see it fail.

Waiting to see.
I like the concept but everything I've seen so far is just so vague.

#26 Posted by nick69 (625 posts) -

I will reserve judgment until further gameplay footage is released.

If it has enough variety to the kills, I can see this being an amusing game to kill time with.
