    NBA 2K is a realistic basketball game developed by Visual Concepts and published by Sega for the Dreamcast on November 10, 1999. The first installment of the franchise of the same name, NBA 2K covers the 1999/2000 NBA season, allowing players to play through either the entire season (including pre-season games and post-season playoffs), one exhibition game, the post-season playoffs, or a customizable tournament.

    The cover athlete of NBA 2K is Allen Iverson of the Philadelphia 76ers, who remains the cover athlete for the series until ESPN NBA 2K5.
