    Improvements

    • ESPN and CBS Sports announcers and broadcasts, including big name hosts such as Brad Nessler and Dick Vitale.
    • Weekly RPI and roster updates into the game (discontinued)
    • General engine, mechanics, and movement upgrades
    • Game tempo options (Up Tempo, Balanced, and Half Court) to match your team's play style.

    Discontinuation

Despite retaining the license, EA Sports announced in 2010 that they would not continue the franchise, and that NCAA Basketball 10 would likely be the last entry in the series. This was in part due to the Ed O'Bannon civil lawsuit brought against the NCAA, which led to EA having to settle outside of court to provide renumeration for what was ruled as "anti-trust" violations on sports franchises.
