Originally a carpenter named Jumpman, this Italian plumber has gone on to become the most recognizable video game character of them all, starring in a veritable pantheon of titles like kart racing and sports. He has been voiced by Charles Martinet for nearly 20 years.
Founder and Khan (ruler) of the Mongolian Empire, Genghis Khan, united several nomadic Central Asian tribes into becoming the largest land Empire the world has ever seen, through a brilliant, yet brutal, war-driven foreign policy.
Luigi is Mario's brother. He began as a simple palette swap of Mario, but was later differentiated. In his later forays, he provides comic relief.
King Arthur, the fabled ancient king of the British Isles, has made many appearances in video games. His story has been fodder for many tales, including Conquests of Camelot, the King Arthur games, and Dark Age of Camelot.
Nobunaga Oda was a powerful lord during Japan's Sengoku period. He appears frequently in historically-themed games as a villain.
Amuro Ray is the protagonist of the original "Mobile Suit Gundam" series and "Char's Counterattack" movie with a supporting role in "Zeta Gundam". The electronics geek stumbles upon the Gundam, a powerful prototype MS, during a Zeon invasion of his home colony.
Cao Cao was a warlord and government official of China's late Han Dynasty. Later in life, he gained control of China's northern plains, which he ruled as Wei, one of three kingdoms of the fractured nation.
The "eternal captain," Bright Noa is the most well known capatain of the Gundam franchise, and often heads the protagonist group in the various Super Robot Wars games. He commands the White Base, Argama, and Ra Cailum throughout the Gundam franchise.
Adol Christin's best friend and travelling compainion. His strength is his most outstanding trait. Works as a thief when Adol first meets him.
The protagonist of the Ys games. Adol Christin is a master swordsman and is a man of very few words.
The rival of Amuro Ray, Char Aznable is perhaps more famous than his opponent. During "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam", he joins the Anti-Earth Union Group as Quattro Bajeena and becomes a mentor to protagonist Kamille Bidan. His final appearance would be in a climactic showdown against Amuro in "Char's Counterattack".
The Babylonian goddess of sex and fertility, derived from the Sumerian goddess Inanna. She had many lovers, all of whom befell curses or death earned from Ishtar herself.
Werdna is the evil wizard villain of the Wizardry series of games. His antithesis would be anyone named Andrew.
Xu Huang was an accomplished warrior during the Three Kingdoms Era of ancient China. He served Cao Cao, and was considered one of his finest generals.
One of Cao Cao's followers. Seems slow at times, but would do anything Cao Cao asks of him.
Strategist for the Wei forces. Just as ruthless as Cao Cao and easily sacrifices his own men to set a trap.
Styled Yuanrang, he is the cousin and loyal vassal of Cao Cao. A stalwart member of the Wei forces during their formative years, he is best remembered today through his portrayal in the Dynasty Warriors franchise.
Wife of Cao Pi, the first emperor of the state of Cao Wei in the Three Kingdoms period. She was posthumously honored as an empress when her son, Cao Rui, succeeded Cao Pi as the second emperor of Wei.
A child-like character who hates being called fat. Joined Cao Cao when one of his officers was kind to Xu Zhu.
Zhang He is the one of the "Five Elite Generals" of Wei, the implicit villain side in the Dynasty Warriors and Romance of the Three Kingdoms series of video games. He is a historical figure based on the romanticized depiction in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel.
One of the most powerful fighters in the land, he defended He Fei so vigorously that the civilians and other warriors were in awe of his strength.
Leader of the Yellow Turban Rebellion, he and his two brothers intended to bring China into a new enlightenment with their mastery of sorcery. Character based on a historical figure from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms story.
Guan Yu was a general serving under Liu Bei of the Kingdom of Shu. He is one of the best known historical figures throughout East Asia.
Sworn brother to Liu Bei and Guan Yu. Rumored to have the strength of a thousand men. One of the Five Tiger Generals.
Infamous tyrant of the 3 Kingdoms era, his eventual downfall came from his greatest warrior betraying him. Character based on a historical figure from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms story.
A strategist during the Three Kingdoms Era of ancient China. He appears as a playable character in almost every Romance of the Three Kingdoms title, and as an NPC in every Dynasty Warriors title from Dynasty Warriors 2, until Dynasty Warriors 7 where he became playable.
A man with many titles, Napoleon was a French general during the French Revolution that made several significant impacts in European history.
Ma Dai was a general who served Shu during the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history. He is the cousin of the famous Shu "Tiger General" Ma Chao. He is a playable character in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series and Dynasty Warriors series.
The Bard is a selfish rogue who will only undertake a quest if there is a likely profit in it for himself.
Liu Shan is the son of Liu Bei and the second ruler of Shu. He is commonly considered to be incompetent.
