Criterion's reboot of one of the most popular games in the Need for Speed series. The game features Racer versus Cop gameplay and can be played from either perspective at any time.
Seriously, I got this at midnight last night and played it with a buddy of mine online and, holy crap. This game is the racing game I've been waiting for!
There is a strategic and teamwork element in playing the cops, and hell even being the racers, that doesn't exist in say Blur or Kart games that is just exhilarting.
I say this not as hyperbole, but because I don't think this game has gotten a lot of attention here and just wanted to build some awareness that for me, this is definetly on my GOTY if things stay as exhilarting as they are over time. Yes, that is bold considering Mass Effect 2 and Red Dead Redemption, but man, this just blows me away immediately like those games did.
I assure you, this is worth the $60. Granted, I know you're holding up for GT5, but this is how I want GT5 to play. I swear to christ, if I have to start GT5 with a worse car than I own in real life.... because that's what I've had to do with all the last GT games AND Forza....
" If it's like Burnout but with licensed cars, I'm there. "
This is basically my position.
I'm super skeptical about this game, but also super hopeful. Criterion is a talented enough developer to knock this game out of the park. I'm just curious to see how it plays. Won't take much to sell me on it.
Just say the words, "FIVE GRAND," and you've got yourself a paying customer.

It is, but it kinda isn't. Its closer to the other hot pursuit games, with the elements of burnout 3 that you'd want. As in some crashing, the great sense of speed and the boosting stuff in there.
