I mean, there's such a realistic and bustling city, it's not all sunny, it's mostly rainy and cloudy, the atmosphere of the place is awesome. The driving is fun, the races are awesome. Only thing I want is a bigger city, but the 5 boroughs are plenty. No loading screens, except for races, seamless transition between areas - this might be my favorite game ever.
Need for Speed Underground 2
Game » consists of 14 releases. Released Nov 15, 2004
EA's Need for Speed series returns for it's second iteration of illegal street racing in Underground 2. New to this game is the ability to roam around an open-world city, newer racing modes like Street X and URL and much deeper customisation.
Anyone else think this is the best video game ever?
All I can say is there are plenty of Need for Speed games, even some of the newer ones, which aren't as good as Underground 2, but I wouldn't say it's the greatest game ever :P
"I think the series has been going downhill since the startI agree.
IMO (From the ones I've played):
Hot Persuit 2 > Underground 2 > Underground 1> Most Wanted > Carbon >>>>> ProStreet"
I really liked Hot Pursuit 2. Underground 2 was great too. I got carbon, wasn't that good.
"BiggerBomb said:"Aside from the Burnout series, I would say racing games in general suck."So I'm guessing you're not a fan of racing sims like Forza or GT?"
I've never played Forza, but I can't stand Grand Turismo. They are incredibly boring.
It's not the best game or the best racing game, but the Underground games (both of them) are the best NFS games IMO. Why did the Fast and the Furious wave have to die?!!!?! I can never get tired of putting neon and fat rims on Japanese cars ^^ Tokyo Drift is one of the best movies of all time FACT! Jeff Gerstmann agrees! I wish they would make Underground 3, but everyone seems to think Most Wanted is the best NFS game in recent years, while it has cops it doesn't have the underground street race feeling that makes Underground so AWESOME =(
The best racing game ever would be Forza/NFS Underground with the realism and tuning from Forza and the street race and neon filled heaven from Underground.
I definitely don't think so, the only NFS game i remember liking was Hot Pursuit 2 on PS2 when i was way younger, the intro movie to that game was so awesome.
Having loved the first one to death, I had a hard time getting used to the "go and find the next race by driving around empty streets" thing. Just like Paradise did to my beloved Burnout series, the open- endedness killed the experience for me.
Give me another game like Burnout 3: Takedown, and the original Need For Speed Underground over this, any day.
lol I might be with you, just because of your enthusiasm.
This song and that game, sooo good.
I was having a hard time embedding the video, so I ended up linking to the song.
