The Neo Geo was a cartridge-based console released by SNK in 1990, featuring a 16/32-bit X68000 CPU with an additional 8-bit Zilog Z80 complementary processor and dedicated GPU graphics processors. An arcade-based console considerably powerful for a home system at the time, the Neo Geo was notoriously expensive (costing $650 at launch), and aggressively marketed as an Advanced Entertainment System.

This is a worthy bump if ever there was one. I've never seen one of these in person, and I'm not even known to love 2D fighting games, but right now I find myself looking on ebay with some curiosity.

Maan, ran a quick ebay search to see what the AES units are going for. You can get a console and two controllers for like 100-150.

Then I looked up my favourite AES cart, Metal Slug X.... still 700 or so dollars. Arrrrgh.
