The first title from famed Metal Slug developer Nazca, Neo Turf Masters is a fast-paced arcade golf game featuring four challenging courses and six golfers with unique stats.
It's been the kind of slow day around here where you find yourself just going to Youtube and typing in "T&C Surf NES" just to see how many awesome videos of T&C Surf Design: Wood & Water Rage come back. Turns out there are more than a few.
But that led me to do a little clicking around until I found myself confronted by a page with over 200 game videos, and most of them are just basic, clean recordings of the rolling demos and intro screens of a bunch of arcade and console games--mostly shooters and fighting games. It's kind of interesting to see how these games present themselves, especially the home games. Considering the attract mode was designed to "attract" players into dropping a quarter into an arcade machine, the rolling demos in home games were little more than a carryover from that old way of thinking.
These days, you're more likely to just see some sort of basic intro movie again and again when you pop in a game. Let's take it back to the days of Neo Turf Masters, baby!

Another "My God!" moment. I remember this game being probably the hardest of the Contra series, but I can't for the life of me remember the stage where Teen Wolf gets chased by Optimus Prime.
Even now there are few games that play the games demo when left Idle.... but yeah.. most high budget games just repeat the intro screen.
and I think I was the only one who, even now, waits for sometime after starting the game for the first time to wait and see if theres a demo type thing or something.
