    Overview

    New Adventure Island (JP: Takahashi Meijin no Shin Bouken Jima, "Master Takahashi's New Adventure Island") is the fourth game in Hudson's Adventure Island series, sitting between Super Adventure Island for the SNES and Adventure Island 3 for the NES. Master Higgins is once again called into action after his new bride Tina and numerous island children are kidnapped by Baron Bronsky and taken to his fortress.

    The game is mechanically similar to the previous Adventure Island games. The player runs across a side-scrolling level, collecting fruit to replenish a constantly dropping health bar while throwing axes and boomerangs at enemies.

    The game was exclusive to the TurboGrafx-16 for many years. It was eventually added to the Wii's Virtual Console in 2007 and the PSN store in 2011.
