    The first 2D Mario platformer for a home console in over 15 years. Though it has single-player, it focuses heavily on cooperative multiplayer, allowing up to 4 players to play simultaneously. This game also premiered Nintendo's Super Guide hint system.

    and it seems as though the multi-player would get annoying when every time someone gets hurt, receives a power-up, or gets revived, the game pauses....

    @iAmJohn: no, its a fact that the game pauses, i am just wondering if that gets tedious

    I have been concerned about that as well. I haven't watched the quicklook yet and I will be unable to for a couple of hours. What did the GB guys think about it? Did they like it?

    I think it sort of gives a breather to the otherwise fast-paced nature of multiplayer.

    That game looks like it is made of pure awesomeness.  The pauses are typical of Mario games, so I'm used to it.

    I might buy the damn thing for the single player after what Jeff said. Plus, I could see in the quick look how the single player would be great and the multiplayer fun.

    Looks fun. I don't see the pausing thing as a problem, but I can see how some might dislike it.

    the pausing thing didn't seem too annoying. it might give the other players a chance to see what somebody else is doing in all the chaos
