Sony Online Entertainment put on a panel at Comic-Con last week where Marv Wolfman, Jim Lee, and Geoff Johns talked at length about the upcoming MMO, DC Universe Online.

meh. been in CO since jan and DC looks like the exact same game with the DC chars thrown in. It's not fun to play becasue the game play gets boring fast. All you do is mash the same 2-3 powers over and over and over and over. It's like WoW level of tedium multiplied ten fold.
I look forward to seeing how this turns out. I could go for a good licensed comic book MMO.

But this game is so far off. Damn it 2010, stealing all 2009's games. '10 is going to be thick just from things we already know, nevermind the unnanounced stuff.
Marvel really does fit the bill better, on account of their characters being so 2 dimensional. Nobody expects NPC development in an MMO so it works out better.
I love DC comics (because I love the Joker), but I really like the style of Champions Online, and Marvel has Hulk, so I'm kinda torn between what I would want given the choice. Don't know if that Marvel MMO is gonna happen or not though.
If SOE is involved then I ain't touching this thing with a 10 foot touching pole.

Sounds good paper, but I don't think it's going to catch on as some of the other blockbuster MMOs out there.
