As the game features all sorts of sly winks to gaming's pixelated past, it's drummed up a fair amount of online interest. Here's how Atlus is describing it:
The game will hit shelves at a discounted price of $39.99, which sure sounds reasonable. Here, look at some screenshots of this thing!About 3D Dot Game Heroes
A long, long time ago, the Dark King Onyx brought an age of darkness upon Dotnia Kingdom. Only by the bravery of a hero with a legendary sword was Onyx sealed in an orb, restoring peace to the world. But Fuelle, a powerful Dark Bishop, has stolen the orb, and with it, peace. Dotnia requires a hero once more! Can you live up to the legend?

You sick bastard!
Totally importing this, unless theres a EU release... please?
There was no rumors of it coming to 360. It was just some guy at From Software saying it wasn't impossible to be ported to the platform. The reason it was a PS3 game is because the game is extremely niche and has tons of references to old retro games and the PS3 was the right platform for it in Japan. If they were to port it to the 360 it would probably be just for the west, kind of like FF13. That being said, I don't think if this game has that massive fan base or appeal. I mean, Demon's Souls is brilliant in its own way and it has its fans and sold well for a game of its kind but not enough for From Software to go back and port to 360 or PC or something. I imagine Dot Heroes will have a similar reception, probably sell more just because it isn't super hardcore and has the pixel art look. Maybe sequels to these games could be multi-platform but then again From Software isn't known too much for that either.
For me, I just can't wait for it to come out...and for 40 DOLLARS? That's amazing. Atlus does it again.
