Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, relaxing at home.
With all the rumors swirling around surrounding some classic music from Australia's AC/DC making its way into Rock Band, it's only fitting that the game will finally be more-easily playable in the band's native land.

Electronic Arts has announced plans to bring Rock Band--that's the original Rock Band--to Australia on November 7. It will be made available on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, and Wii in a variety of instrument bundles. The full kit will sell for 250 Australian dollars. I believe that's somewhere around $275,000 United States funbucks.

Of course, here in the land of bank closures and awesomeness, we're all playing Rock Band 2. Shouldn't they just pump out both games as a bundle in Australia so they can catch up all at once? After all, the original Rock Band is effectively worth around $10, if you consider its worth to be nothing more than a rental fee combined with the $5 needed to license its content into Rock Band 2.

Weeeeeeeak.
If they did the 2-in-1 then at least the Aussies would have as much plastic crap as everybody else.

well, I am australian and Have been the biggest Rockband fan since it was launched, but they are releaseing 2 weeks before GH4.

But what I am going to do is, get GH4, my friend will get rock band and I will import RB2 (I have a ps3, so luckily I am able to do so)

The release of Rock Band 1 and only Rock Band 1 means that Australia probably won't get the sequel until a year later. And that kinda sucks for them.

Rock Band apparently isn't going to get much of a retail showing "down under" though. Some of the JB's and EB's i've talked to said they are only going to stock GH:WT

I can't help but like that EA is losing so much potential revenue for screwing over Australia - but I hope this doesn't make it look like we don't want rhythm games.

If they reliese Rock Band 2, people wont pay full price for Rock Band 1!

What they should've done is give us RB2 under the title of "Rock Band". Maybe then I'd consider buying the RB kit, otherwise my plan is for GH: Tould Tour kit with Rock Band software.

Does this mean that we have to have the old instruments that they have said themselves have problem?
Why not just give us RB and RB2 together bundled with the RB2 peripherals?
Maybe an Aussie version of the game...I'd love to play some AC/DC, Chisel, Powderfinger, Silverchair, Midnight Oil, Jet, etc.

That image caption is wonderful.  But the poor Australians; are they the only market to get dicked more than the Europeans?

For those Aussies about to rock...well, they're a little late to the party. I think it's fair to include both Rock Band 1 and 2 in whatever kind of limited-quantity bundle package they end up getting. As little as I care about Australia, I think that justifies making them wait that long. They're a whole day ahead of the U.S., yet so far behind.

EA doesn't care about black people...or Australia .

I'm just happy it's coming out, that potentially means Rock Band 2 is coming out! Wooo!

Aww, you didn't mention us New Zealanders? We're getting it too... Not that I want to, they've screwed me over enough, I was looking forward to it coming out October last year, but one year after? I don't care anymore.

Did it really take them 1 year to license them songs? Either way I don't care. I live in Australia and I am annoyed that it took so long but really everything here comes late. 360 took 5 more months upon the USA/Japanese release to finally arrive in Australia.

I can assure you that Rock Band is going to do well though. Australia is filled with noobs that go after whatever is advertised to them.

Actually no, theres China, a large portion of Asia that ISNT Japan, Brazil, south america, and in fact plenty of places that never see non pirate versions of most games.

I sent this question to the podcast:

How can Rock Band 1 compete with World Tour in Europe. Rock Band 1 will have 1 or 2 months head start on World Tour here in Europe? They are both the same price and if you pre-order World Tour you get a free 3rd party guitar controller. Rock Band in Europe as a franchise is going to sink faster than the titanic - FACT.

It's a no-brainer as far as I am concerned.
