The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s version 1.2 patch is not the savior we have been looking for. Cue the sound of a sad violin.
Bethesda Game Studios issuing patches for its games that end up fixing some things while also conveniently breaking others is not a new occurrence, but what’s being broken with version 1.2 may encourage you to hold off a bit.
I’m not going to hold dragons flying backwards against the game--that sounds (and looks!) awesome.
The real problem is for players who invested into magic resistance for their character, as the patch appears to make all of those now null and void. These even applies to NPCs with innate magical attributes.
The low-resolution texture issue affecting the Xbox 360 version when installed appears to be inconsistently fixed, too.
There’s a message board thread keeping tabs on the reported issues, but Bethesda has not issued an official statement on the matter. When that inevitably changes, I’ll update this story with the company's comments. Report your own issues below.

oh my
woo
Damn, well I have work to do anyway. I doubt I will be really getting much Skyrim in today anyway.
Glad I waited to get this. Looks like I'll be waiting even longer.

THAT DRAGON IS FLYING BACKWARDS BY SHOOTING FLAMES OUT OF HIS MOUTH
BETHESDA WINS AGAIN
Hmm maybe I'll play Skyrim offline to avoid this patch.
The only statement you will get from them will be "we´re looking into it". They are not exactly good about support or anything once a game has been released.
Funny thing is, Todd Howard mentioned some "faster way" they were going to have in order to patch the game or at least adjust some internal values.. well, if 2 weeks is a "fast" turnaround time for a patch/hotfix that doesn´t really fix stuff, then I don´t know if he was right.
Good thing I only dabble in destruction magic
Even though I'm on 360, I'm going to hold off until another patch hits. I don't want to bork things at all.
Luckily, this means I can play more Dark Souls since that patch just hit, as well as Alice, Shadows of the Damned, and Deus Ex. = D
I guess I'm still waiting to play Skyrim 8(
Looks like I'm going to wait to play until the next patch comes out. I love my character way too much to have it get destroyed through glitches.
God damn it I stopped playing a week ago and waited for this patch!! But I'll take backwards flying dragons.
There looks to be a lot of you who have never played a Elder Scrolls game from launch. This is all normal.
Is there anyplace for me to air grievances about dragons running away from battle? I suppose I could wait until Festivus, but so far I've killed a handful of dragons and had at least three of them run(or fly) away from me before I could turn them into a big skeleton with clipping issues.
Uhh what the hell, I'm gonna have to play this offline now, I deeply invested in magic resistances.
