Giant Bomb Video Game News

Video Game News, Stories and Updates for the PS3, XBOX 360, PC, PSP, Wii, and DS

Added by Brad Shoemaker on July 2, 2009

After what seemed like a few false starts, EA has announced that DICE's Battlefield revival 1943 will finally be hitting Xbox Live Arcade next Tuesday (I mean, uh, Wednesday), July 8, with the PlayStation Network version following one day later on July 9. Both versions will run you around $15.

We got some serious quick look time with '43 recently, and you can also take a gander at this new trailer.

Lastly, EA sent out "box" art for the game, including a PC version, as if to remind you that the PC version is in fact still coming. But not until September, don't forget.

@Pie: OH for the love of God, for the last fucking time, it's not free and you're never getting anything for free if you keep asking the same question over and over again.

I don't think the size of this download has ever been mentioned. I want this game but I don't have a lot of room left on my hard drive. Hopefully it isn't much more than a gig.

I thought it wasn't coming out 'till september.

I'm glad it's coming earlier than I expected. When I watched the live footage of the game at IGN (was it IGN?) they said it wouldn't be coming for a few weeks, so I assumed we wouldn't be playing it until July 15 - August 1. This is great news. At least we have a date to go by.

According to that box art for the PC its only a download code.  So where are we downloading the game from?  EA Manager?

WOOO PC version not a console port! Sigh of relief.

Proof here, so stop whining.

@Dethfish77: 550mb, it's on the game's page.

@Pie: The trial mode is free, which seems to be one map, no ranks.

Is there any way to pre-purchase games on XBLM? I mean they have the E3 giveaway unlock codes able to be put in right now which places the game in your download queue if I'm not mistaken.
