Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam Expansion Dated

Nothing says Christmas like napalm and old war vehicles.

EA DICE's Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam add-on now has a firm release date for both consoles and the PC. The content is hitting Xbox Live Arcade and PSN this December 21 while the PC version will hit the EA Store and Steam on December 18, as the EA Store Twitter account announced this morning. All versions of the content, which adds four new maps and skins, as well as period weapons and vehicles, are priced at 15 bucks.

Previously, the add-on had a mysterious "Winter 2010" placeholder date.

In other BF: BC 2 news, the next VIP Map Pack has been slated, too. December 1 is the date that VIP owners of the shooter can get their hands on this latest and free map pack that adds a total of four new maps, two of which were fan favorites from the original Bad Company's multiplayer. The BF: BC2 blog has some more details on the modes each map supports.

These two downloadables are the reason why a monstrous 2.4GB BF: BC2 patch is up on Xbox Live, PSN, and various PC download services right now. It squashes some bugs, sure, but the majority of its girth can probably be attributed to whatever elements it adds that Vietnam and VIP Map Pack 7 needs to be able to work. The Shack has the patch notes, which as you'll notice, are heavier for the Xbox 360 version of the game.

Ready for the Vietnam add-on? Surely you've tired of those Nuketown massacres in Call of Duty: Black Ops team deathmatch by now, right?
