YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG

Echoing yesterday's story about EA's beary special Red Alert 3/Warhammer Online preorder bonus, DirecTV announced earlier today that it will be broadcasting live coverage of BlizzCon as a special pay-per-view event, and that the people who buy the PPV event will get an exclusive polar bear mount for World of Warcraft, complete with a BlizzCon-flag-waving murloc. I'll gladly admit that this is of interest to me only because of the apparent ursine-mania that's sweeping MMOs right now, though I imagine the Venn diagram of People Who Would Pay to Watch BlizzCon on Their Television Sets and People Who Would Get Really Excited About a World of Warcraft Polar Bear Mount to be a single, perfect circle.

Like the old Icelandic fishing fable says, bears always come in threes, so expect to see Richard Garriott announce his plans to fight a bear on the moon later this week.

If you bought that Madden Pay Per View....then...I don't know. I don't think Giant Bomb, as a website, can save you.

They should throw a bear into every MMO, no matter how awkward it would be to place one there.
It would instantly make even the worst of MMO's awesome.

I'm not a World of WarCraft fan, I want to see StarCraft 2 stuff.
So I would imagine there's a very small offset to that second circle.
