There’s a history of publishers incentivize the purchase of one game with the promise of another. Tobal No. 1 was famously bundled with a demo of Final Fantasy VII, and Capcom will continue that tradition by including download codes for a Resident Evil 6 demo in this May’s Dragon’s Dogma.
Of course, there’s a catch.
If you’re buying the Xbox 360 version of Dragon’s Dogma, the Resident Evil 6 demo becomes available on July 3. If you’re buying the PlayStation 3 version of Dragon’s Dogma, however, that very same demo is locked into Microsoft exclusivity for two months--the demo won't arrive until September 4.
How does Capcom explain this? Well, it mostly doesn’t.
“That's a considerable leg up for 360 owners, but still an early chance to check out RE6 (due out November 20th) for PS3 owners,” said the company in its announcement post on Capcom Unity.
Dragon's Dogma launches on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 22.

Gross.
*preorders Dragon's Dogma*
Also I don't care about the extra wait; I'll just get the demo (or Dragon's Dogma I should say) on the 360 but stick to my ps3 RE6 preorder. Now if they were pulling some of that 360 temp-exclusive DLC bollocks, then I'd feel a little peeved.
Guess who has no reason to purchase Dragon's Dogma? PS3 Owners.
Console exclusivity..? For a demo? Really, Microsoft? Really, Capcom?
Meh, this bothers me. How much confidence does Capcom have in Dragon's Dogma if they are tying their flagship's demo to it?
Dragon's Dogma looks like a blend between Skyrim and Monster Hunter. Already more interesting than Kingdom of Amalururururururu or whatever that game is called. IN MY OPINION OKAYY!!!???
I remember hearing about Dragon's Dogma 2 years ago and haven't really seen anything since.
@Enigmatical: It's not necessarily a lack of confidence in Dragon's Dogma. They've invested a ton of time and money into the game and it's being handled by their largest and best development team. SE included a demo for FFXII on DQVIII. I doubt they lacked confidence in that title.
IMMA DRAGON AND IM GONNA TEACH YOU MY DOGMA.
MUST BUY NOW
So... people will buy Dragon's Dogma to get hold of the demo, the game will become a cult favourite in the process and then it'll have a disappointing sequel.
Isn't that right, agent?
Gross, but whatever. I think anyone who would buy Dragon's Dogma just to play RE6 earlier would also be buying RE6 and the game's out on both platforms the same day. This is meaningless.
Microsoft can get exclusive rights to a demo but they can't get any exclusive characters for a fighting game?
lol, so happy I stopped by Crapcom's garbage products which are now either released in an incomplete state so that they car release a "SUPER ULTIMATE!!!!1!!1!!" version later, or they're tied down with silly restrictions. They haven't made anything noteworthy since RE4.

Second largest actually. That title was swiftly taken by RE6 :P Like 600+ people overall.
@Firelogic: Hey, I want to take the optimistic viewpoint, too. The gameplay videos look pretty amazing and I'm a closet fan of Monster Hunter so anything resembling that is awesome... I'm just concerned.
As an aside, didn't they -just- release a press release saying that the crew on Resident Evil 6 was the biggest crew they'd ever assembled to work on a game? Question for the next Capcom news conference - Which one truly is the biggest?

Hah, that's right! I just mentioned that.

They are both interesting, no need to knock one down.
