As if today wasn't already
scary enough, EA has revealed that there's an update in the works for Mercenaries 2: World in Flames that will feature Governor Sarah Palin and Senator Barack Obama as playable characters. Here's a trailer showing the two candidates in action, courtesy of G4.
I'm all for a little political fun-poking, but my concerns about this are two-fold. For one, we've got less than a week before the polls close, so Pandemic doesn't have much time before this whole fleeting undertaking becomes completely irrelevant. Secondly, Mercenaries 2 gets away with a pretty unflattering take on modern Venezuela by not taking itself too seriously, but there's something a little unnerving about watching these potential leaders of the free world blowing up oil rigs in a country with whom the US has got some pretty tenuous relations.
