The rumors are true: Electronic Arts has purchased PopCap Games and former games editor turned director of editorial and social media Jeff Green for $750 million.
Based on reaching certain financial milestones, the deal could reach as high as $1.3 billion, which jives with the original $1 billion number that was floating around not too long ago.
It's unclear how much Green, whose last name is quite a convenient coincidence, will make out of this.
The deal means EA now adds Plants vs. Zombies, Bejeweled, Peggle and other lucrative franchises into the company's lineup. EA has been aggressively moving into the mobile and social space in recent years, acquiring one of the biggest developers, PlayFish, for $300 million in 2009.

Will it ever end?
Poor Jeff Green, he can never get away.
So Jeff Green works for EA again :) Are they going to make him try to move the box again
They could have rented the Staples Center for that.
Just when Jeff Green thinks he's out, THEY PULL HIM BACK IN!

did not know jeff green was worth that much
How long until EA pulls all of PopCap's games from Steam so they can sell them exclusively on Origin?
Jeff Green cannot escape the iron fist of EA.
Is it possible to run Bejeweled into the ground? Let's see.
